| With Plasmaseal's Proteus device the two steps are performed in sequence automatically. Whole blood is injected into Proteus' single use disposable cartridge and placed in the dual action base unit. The operator touches a button, and the cycle begins. The platelet plasma is separated by centrifugation. Then the integral syringe pump concentrates fibrinogen, platelets and all other clotting and wound healing factors by circulating the platelet plasma through concentrator fibers. In ten minutes the PPC is ready for use. Proteus devices can be engineered to process 50 to 120 cc of whole blood, producing 6 to 15 cc of PPC. | |
