The Solar® Shoulder System | | | General Information | |
| Vendor | | Stryker Corporation | | Item | | The Solar® Shoulder System | | Approval | | USA | | Product Number | | Inquire | | Humeral Head Specs | | The unique dual radius of the Solar® humeral head design allows the surgeon to independently select head thickness and diameter, thus optimizing stability, range of motion, and soft tissue balance. To illustrate, a head thickness of 21 mm is available in four diameters, 40, 45, 50, and 55 mm. This allows for balancing of the soft tissues in the neutral position with the proper translation, while still being able to select a diameter that will allow a good range of motion without overstuffing the joint space (less mass in the joint space). 19 neutral head sizes with diameters ranging from 40 mm to 55 mm and thicknesses ranging from 12 mm to 34 mm. | | Humeral Stem Specs | | Forged Titanium alloy for superior strength and biocompatibility. The proximal body’s double wedge design and 1mm distal diameter sizing offers an optimal geometry for both pressfit and cemented applications.
11 primary humeral components, with distal diameters ranging from 7 mm to 17 mm, and stem lengths from 115 mm to 140 mm. 3 revision long humeral components with distal diameters ranging from 9 mm to 13 mm. Stem lengths are 200 mm. | | Glenoid Component Specs | | Made of UHMWPE, the Solar® glenoid component addresses long-term fixation with its patented angled inferior peg design. It is designed to resist superior forces, which tend to “rock out” the component as the humeral head translates through its normal range of motion. When implanted, the angled inferior peg is virtually perpendicular to these reaction forces, countering the loosening effect. For the surgeon who prefers a keeled glenoid, Howmedica Osteonics has designed a wide keel with normalizations to “bite” into more dense bone. To avoid edge loading, all Solar® glenoid components maintain a 3 mm mismatch in radius of curvature between the glenoid and humeral head components. | | Pricing | | Inquire | | Financing | | To finance this purchase click here (U.S. customers only) |
