The collar allows for medial compression into trabecular bone, while the lateral cobra flange also enhances compression and torsional stability. The 2.5 mm proximal polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) spacers and distal centralizers help to ensure a continuous, uniform cement mantle and help ensure correct positioning. The stem is slightly undersized from the broach (~2 mm) to ensure the continuous cement mantle.
