For secondary review, secure access to image and report data is available via the Internet with PCs running only a web browser. Utilizing industry standards including DICOM, HL-7 and SQL, Encompass provides access to data managed within the hospital information system (HIS), the cardiology information system (CIS) and the electronic patient record (EPR).
PERFORMANCE: Encompass streamlines access to and management of patient data by integrating data from multiple imaging modalities including angiography, cardiac ultrasound and intravascular ultrasound. The system also manages non-image data including waveforms and clinical reports. Other systems consolidate data stored within legacy applications and third-party systems creating a "system of systems" that's harder to use, more complicated to manage and more expensive to support. Encompass' truly integrated design provides a fast, stable, simplified solution.
PORTABILITY: Utilizing Heartlab's patent pending DVD-R archiving technology, Encompass gives users access to archived cases in less than 30 seconds. Plus, Encompass stores data on DVD-R using the DICOM standard, so you can read a DVD written with Encompass in any PC with a DVD-ROM drive. Heartlab does not use proprietary data formats, so access to patient data is not dependent on the archiving system. With Encompass, data backup and more important, data retrieval during disaster recovery are fast, easy, reliable processes.
SIMPLICITY: Encompass offers an intuitive touch-screen user interface for case review and clinical reporting that is incredibly easy to master. Designed with input from Cardiologists at leading cardiac centers, Encompass' patient-centered user interface works the way you do, making it surprisingly simple to do so much with such ease.
FLEXIBILITY: Heartlab has developed a sophisticated software-centric design that enables components of the Encompass network to integrate flexibly, to create custom system configurations that support different and changing requirements. Since Encompass doesn't rely on proprietary hardware solutions, it's easy to take advantage of performance improvements available with new computers. The Encompass DVD Archive provides a scalable storage solution that can easily be expanded over time to support the patient data storage requirements of even the largest tertiary care centers.
