 | | Product Description | |
| The TandemHeart® PTVA® (Percutaneous Transseptal Ventricular Assist) System is a unique proprietary solution for the hemodynamic needs of patients for circulatory support by both Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons. These specialists have historically used intra-aortic balloon pumps to provide some coronary artery perfusion, but the IABP provides minimal circulatory support. Our vision is to revolutionize the treatment of heart disease by bridging gaps in current technology, and to introduce novel, highly effective therapies for circulatory support.
For the first time, mechanical circulatory support of up to four liters per minute is possible through percutaneous access. The TandemHeart PTVA System gives CardiacAssist a clear and early lead in the circulatory support market for patients in the cath lab. Currently, no other ventricular assist device (VAD) or circulatory support system provides our unique combination of hemodynamic support via a percutaneous approach.
