Magnetic stimulation is a non-invasive and painless method of stimulating the peripheral and central nervous system. Cadwell Laboratories manufactures two magnetic stimulation devices, the MES-10 and the High Speed Magnetic Stimulator (HSMS). The Hight Speed MES-10 magnetic stimulator is capable of stimulation rates up to 25 Hz at full power. Several coil configurations are available for each stimulator.
This device is approved for peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation. It is not approved for human cortical stimulation. The FDA requires an IDE (investigational device exemption) for studies involving human cortical stimulation with this device. | |
