Matrix® Detachable Coils | | | General Information
| Vendor | | Boston Scientific Corporation | | Item | | Matrix® Detachable Coils | | Features | | Copolymer-Platinum Construction:
Matrix Coils are platinum coils covered with an absorbable copolymer. Approximately 70% of the coil volume is comprised of the absorbable copolymer which is typically absorbed by the body within 90 days.
Absorbable Copolymer:
Matrix Coils employ a well-characterized Polyglycolic-Polylactic Acid (PGLA) copolymer that has been used in many biocompatible devices, such as surgical staples, orthopedic implants, sutures, and drug delivery vehicles.
Motion-Free Detachment:
Matrix Coils utilize electrolytic detachment for coil delivery. Because the electrolytic process does not rely on mechanical movement to deliver the coil, it provides precise, motion-free detachment.
Matrix Coil Construction:
Matrix Coils employ a proprietary outer copolymer coil over an inner platinum main coil. The copolymer runs the entire length of the main coil and constitutes approximately 70% of total coil volume.
Fluoroscopic Visualization:
The platinum main coil provides for fluoroscopic visualization.

Lubricious Coating:
A lubricious coating on the surface of the outer copolymer coil facilitates coil deployment and retraction when wet. | | Approval | | US FDA | | Model Number | | Matrix 3D Shape Coils | | Helical Coil Diameter (mm): Range | | 3 to 20 | | Length in Introducer (cm): Range | | 4 to 30 | | Pricing | | Inquire | | Financing | | To finance this purchase click here (U.S. customers only) |

Aneurysm occlusion is the ultimate objective of neurovascular treatment with conventional bare platinum coils. With Matrix Detachable Coils, occlusion is only the beginning...
Matrix Detachable Coils are intended for embolization of those intracranial aneurysms that -- because of their morphology, their location, or the patient's general medical condition -- are considered by the treating neurosurgical team to be a) very high risk for management by traditional operative techniques, or b) inoperable. Matrix Coils are also intended for embolization of other neurovascular abnormalities such as arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulae. Matrix Coils are also intended for arterial and venous embolizations in the peripheral vasculature.
Our proven stretch-resistant technology is designed to virtually eliminate stretching during positioning and repositioning of the coil prior to deployment.* Stretch-resistant coils are engineered for enhanced delivery, and are now available in 2D Standard SR as well as 2D Soft SR and UltraSoft SR. Five softness grades: Extra-Firm, Firm, Standard, Soft, and UltraSoft, provide for a range of vessel morphologies.
An extensive choice of coil designs and sizes provide the physician with 89 treatment options. Matrix Detachable Coils are compatible with the Excelsior® SL-10, Excelsior 1018®, and Tracker® Excel™-14 microcatheters. Note: Matrix Extra Firm are not compatible with the Excelsior SL-10 microcatheter.
