The Retrograde Humeral Nail enables fixation of humeral shaft fractures while avoiding postoperative shoulder symptoms that may be associated with antegrade nailing.
In addition, the system enables proximal and distal interlocking using a nail-mounted targeting device. This device is used for posterior-anterior interlocking with the patient in the prone position. In cases that require a supine position, the interlocking is performed in the anterior-posterior direction using a radiolucent drill or a free-hand technique.
