| The Ray Threaded Fusion Cage™ is a proven interbody* device with ten years of clinical success (including IDE). This device is a hollow threaded cylinder with fenestrations to allow bone-to-bone contact. In providing this contact the device promotes spinal fusion by producing an optimal fusion environment. Use of the Ray TFC™ is indicated for use with autogenous bone graft disease in patients with degenerative disc disease at one or two levels from L2 to S1. These DDD patients may also have up to Grade 1 Spondylolisthesis at the involved level(s). The Ray TFC™ is to be implanted via an open posterior or an open anterior approach. The unique biomechanics of the system enable load sharing between the device and the spine. Axial load is distributed to the bone graft while maintaining disc height. Two devices are implanted per level. They are placed lateral to the midline and packed with autogenous bone graft; a high performance polyethylene end cap is set in place. The Ray Threaded Fusion Cage has been cited in several long-term patient follow-up studies and has shown exceptional clinical results since it was first introduced.* | |
