- A new rapid platelet function assay, VerifyNow Clopidogrel, has been developed
by Accumetrics. The assay is specific to the effects of drugs such as
clopidogrel.
- The assay is currently available for Research Use Only (RUO); not for use in
diagnostic procedures.

| The VerifyNow™ Clopidogrel Assay measures changes in platelet function in response to patients taking Clopidogrel (Plavix). It uses a specific activator for the P2Y12 pathway, which clopidogrel inhibits. The assay has not been cleared by the FDA, however, the assay is available for Research Use Only (RUO) settings.
