    Product Description
The hands play an important part in our daily lives. But degenerative or traumatic impairments and rheumatic changes can cause severe handicaps. A decisive consideration in the developing of the finger-joint prostheses was to produce a reconstructed joint function that would reproduce the natural function as nearly possible. The cementless RM Finger System has proven itself in more than 30 years of clinical experiences worldwide. The first implantation, on 23 June 1970, was an interphalangeal joint of the thumb. The cementless finger joint prosthesis should enable a near normal reconstruction of the natural function of the joint. These prostheses have a separable hinge with a longitudinal play of 0,7 mm, a lateral excursion of 10°, and a rotation of approx. 6°. This configuration optimally weeds the functional requirements of the joint. This prothesis is particularly well suited for cases of chronic polyarthritis and traumatogenic joint replacement. The distal and proximal joint components are coated with titanium. A new coating method makes it possible to fix a perfectly adhering pure titanium layer to the joint surface in contact with bone. This improves the direct bony on-growth of the prosthesis.
