| The True/Flex Upper Extremity Intramedullary Rod System offers the surgeon a simple and efficacious alternative to conventional methods of rodding and plating. The rods are flexible, allowing for micromotion at the fracture site and enhanced healing4 The fluted non-reamed design allows the rods to be easily inserted into the canal. By requiring only one small incision for insertion of the rod, surgery time is significantly reduced and the risk of infection lowered. In a limited study, it was noted that procedures averaged 24 minutes faster using the True/Flex Forearm Nail, and
healing rates averaged 8.7 weeks versus 13 weeks with plates. | |
