The retractor fingers are deployed by turning the grooved knob on the proximal end of the instrument. When the instrument is inserted through the trocar sleeve to the point that the entire gold portion of the instrument is visible at the distal end, the instrument head can be articulated from 0° to 45° toward the orientation dot by turning the articulation collar on the shaft of the instrument.When inserting and removing the ENDO RETRACT™ II instrument from the trocar sleeve, the flapper valve should be manually opened by rotating the desufflation lever. In addition, ensure that the retractor fingers are not deployed or articulated during insertion and removal through the trocar sleeve. This facilitates insertion and removal of the ENDO RETRACT™ II instrument.
