| ENDOPATH Large-Port trocars consist of three separate components: an exchange rod, a dilating obturator with threaded conical tip, and a transparent trocar sleeve. The exchange rod is a rigid cylindrical shaft, blunt at both ends, 35cm long. The dilating obturator is tapered and threaded at the tip and designed to dilate an opening created by the 10/11mm or the 12mm ENDOPATH surgical trocar. The trocar sleeve housing contains an external gasket and internal flapper valve with a seal to prevent gas leakage when the exchange rod or instruments are inserted or withdrawn. The trocar sleeve housing is also transparent allowing for improved visibility of specimen extraction and instrument insertion and removal. By using ENDOPATH trocar reducers, 5mm and 10mm diameter instruments may be used without loss of pneumoperitoneum.
