Can be used as a stabilization orthosis or walker boot for a spectrum of foot and ankle joint indications. | | Approval | | Worldwide | | Product Number | | 4103 (large)
4102 (medium)
4101 (small) | | Materials | | A combination of prefabricated brace and open foam liner.
The nylon liner is excellent for a stable injury. The vacuum liner from the VacoSplint also can be used when more stabilization, similar to casting is required.
The rigid outer shell is a lattice frame to allow the unit to be lightweight. The STORM weighs less than 2 pounds. If we had made the outer shell solid the weight would have increased and made it difficult to maintain balance.
There are solid "spines" within the framework of the shell to support the open lattice work. They stabilize and support the brace while allowing the minimum amount of added weight to the STORM. | | Sizes | | large (men 91/2-13 women 111/2-plus)
