Low-noise design allows clear, low-light image capture: Highly sensitive CCD chip and Nikon's exclusive signal-to-noise digital circuit technology design now exhibits a sensitivity more than twice that of previous models, making low light fluorescence image documentation possible with outstanding results. The new CCD's enhanced quantum efficiency allows a greater spectral sensitivity, especially in the red and near infrared part of the color spectrum. Gain can be set in three levels and long exposure times are also available.
