Product Description
This REA kit measures the biologically active form of Vitamin B6: Pyridoxal phosphate. Vitamin B6 is a valuable prognostic marker for cardiovascular diseases. Recently, a reationship between a low plasma vitamin B6 level and Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) has been shown. The transamination reactions of homocysteine to cystathionine and then to cystein are strictly B6-dependent. There is new emerging evidence that vitamin B6 deficiency is an independent risk factor for the develoment of Artherosclerosis and Coronary Arthery Disease (CAD).
