| The miniaturization of percutaneous nephroscopes permits the even more minimally invasive treatment of both children and adults. A large working channel but small external diameter enables the following diagnoses and therapies to be carried out with the slender nephroscope:
Endourological diagnostics and therapy:
Endoscopic search for tumors in the pelvicaliceal system.
Removal of stones from the renal collecting system as a primary intervention.
Removal of remaining stone in a combined treatment using ESWL.
Resection or laser coagulation of renal pelvic tumors in the case of solitary or partial kidneys as an organ-conserving palliative measure.
Endoscopic work-up and incision of scarred pelviureteric junction constrictions. | |
