| The freezer is constructed with built-in bags as in a suspension file system, in which the plasma bags are placed without contacting the ethylene glycol and without having to lift cold and heavy inserts. This device ensures easy handling and maximum surface freezing concurrently with sealing the immersed plasma bags so that the relatively hot air under the lid does not obstruct instant freezing of the upper part of the plasma.
The freezing time (from +20 °C to -30 °C) is as low as 25 minutes measured at the centre of a plasma bag (300 ml) during full utilisation of capacity which would appear to be world record. | |
