Product Description
More than 1 million people are diagnosed with varicose veins every year, but a majority of these patients never seek treament and are apprehensive of conventional choices. The TRIVEX* System can offer them an effective alternative to conventional therapies.

Traditional varicose vein removal, (stab avulsion or hook phlebectomy), is considered a laborious procedure by many doctors and many patients are apprehensive to seek this treatment alternative. Smith & Nephew has developed a way to address both party's concerns. The conventional procedure requires multiple incisions, is performed blind, and it requires extended procedural time. The TRIVEX System was designed to provide the surgeon a faster, easier, and more efficient method for removing varicose veins. Patented and clinically tested, the TRIVEX System removes varicose veins through illumination, resection, and tumescence using only 2–3 incisions.1,2

Developed by a surgeon, the TRIVEX System uses transillumination to clearly identify all targeted veins and allow for their complete removal. A powered resector does the work of excising the targeted veins. Tumescent infiltration is used for hydrodissection and flushes the area of blood with use of Tumescent Anesthesia. Taking usually half the time as the conventional procedure, the results are a shorter, easier recovery with good cosmesis.
