FeaturesOne single-piece cage, coated with Carbofilm eliminates the need for welding. Struts feature an optimal hydrodynamic contour, droplet shaped, intended to diminish turbulence and the consequent risk of thrombogenicity. The graphite substrate is coated with bulk pyrolytic carbon. A tantalum wire allows the radiographic visualization. Opening angle of 60° is designed to minimize regurgitation and energy loss. Carbofilm coated sewing ring is made of PTFE fabric. The inflow and outflow portions are coated with Carbofilm in order to improve haemocompatibility and to reduce the risk of tissue overgrowth; the central portion is left uncoated in order to favor tissue ingrowth.

The Allcarbon monodisc valve is the ultimate evolution beginning from the Monocast, the first Sorin tilting disc valve implanted in 1977, and through the Carbocast, introduced in 1986 with a Carbofilm coated cage.
