Product Description
Thermo Scientific NanoDrop products have developed a new increased-throughput instrument, the Thermo Scientific NanoDrop™ 8000 8-Sample Spectrophotometer, which allows clinical investigators to perform absorbance spectroscopy with eight 1ul samples simultaneously, greatly reducing the time required to measure 96-well plates of samples. As with the NanoDrop 3300 Fluorospectrometer and NanoDrop 1000 Spectrophotometer, the NanoDrop 8000 8-Sample Spectrophotometer uses the same retention system but arranged in a linear array of eight pedestals. An eight channel pipette is used to quickly dispense the samples onto the optical surfaces. Each of the eight samples is then assessed at two different path lengths to attain the same broad dynamic range of the NanoDrop 1000 Spectrophotometer (2ng/ul to 3700ng/ul for dsDNA). Cleanup simply requires wiping the upper and lower pedestals with an ordinary laboratory wipe. The NanoDrop 8000 allows investigators to work with larger numbers of samples while providing the overall capabilities and ease-of-use of the NanoDrop 1000. Ideal for preparing clinical samples for downstream molecular diagnostic assays in higher-throughput environments.
